We support International Women’s day – not just today 8th March 2021 – but everyday.
A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change. So let’s all choose to challenge. How will you help forge a gender equal world? Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.
Celebrate with us – Amy Evans – Financial Director of Saecom Limited.
Saecom are one of the few Telco companies in the UK to have a female lead as their Financial Director, and as part of the Board which develops and builds the Saecom brand and product portfolio.
Saecom truly believe in equality and ensuring the best person regardless of gender, sex, age, creed or colour is working to help support our customers and deliver excellence.
Where did it all begin?
Amy is a true Swansea born and bred success story. After completing her degree in Mathematics with Sports Science at the University of Wales, Swansea, Amy joined Boots the Chemists, where she worked her way through the ranks to Store Manager aged just 24! demonstrating early on her determination, leadership and potential in business.
With that passion to broaden her knowledge and explore new opportunities, Amy stepped into the growing Swansea property sector where her skills were used in rent collection and debt recovery.
How is it going……
With her passion for finance and numbers rekindled, and forever being a very driven and ambitious person – an opportunity, too good to pass over became available at Saecom.
During her time at Saecom, Amy has been instrumental in identifying hidden arrears and introducing stringent payment monitoring and debt recovery tools.
With her analytical mind and attention to detail, Amy has scrutinised past accounts and billing processes and secured thousands of pounds in credits for the company that were previously unresolved. Using her previous experience and her no-nonsense approach, Amy successfully gathered solid evidence and collected those business critical credit notes from suppliers.
Amy continues to introduce new business mechanisms and has recently created and programmed a new monitoring system to ensure payments, orders and customer notifications are acknowledged, delivered and received on time.
Perfecting a simple but effective billing process, Amy also works closely with our Wholesalers to coordinate records and ensure accounts and customer bills are 100% accurate without any under or over payments.
With ambitions to develop even further in finance, her eyes are set on tackling pricing and profit margins to ensure the business remains sustainable.
Without her dedication, business acumen and clear vision – Saecom would not be the Welsh success Story that it is. Amy continues to lead the team from the front and inspires the rest of the business to drive on, think outside the box yet stay focussed.
As part of International Women’s Day, Saecom hope that Amy can stand as a beacon of hope and light – to show young women that through hard work, application and knowledge, you can obtain success – benefit the local community within which they grew up and live and further your own career.
